The Lava Glass Cafe

The Lava Glass Café is located south of Taupo New Zealand on State Highway #5 adjacent to the Lava Glass Gallery. If you are not careful, you'll drive right past it. I originally stopped at the gallery to find a nice souvenir and ended up eating lunch at the café.

Not only did I find the most amazing souvenir, which I had been looking all over for, but I also sat down and had a great lunch. I know it was a great lunch, but I neglected to write down exactly what I had. I can tell you that they had a huge selection of food and the service was superb. You pick your main course and they add two to three side dishes to compliment it. Everything was so tasty and I ate my fill. In fact, I ate so much that I did not eat a normal meal when I sat down for dinner that night.

I highly recommend that anyone, who is traveling south of Taupo, stop into this café and have a great lunch.
