Wow, what a grand hotel! This hotel in a gorgeous residential area right on the edge of Pasadena (probably more considered to be in San Marino by the locals) reminds me of a European Manor Estate or a French Chateau. It stands majestically amid the meticulously kept houses- a place I could never afford to live or probably even breathe on! If it wasn’t for my friend’s negotiating skills with the front desk I wouldn’t have been able to afford to stay in such a grand place as this either. We managed to get our double queen bed room for $250 a night which is a much better rate than the normal $450 that I’m told they normally charge. Normally the $250 (half of that of course because we were sharing the room) a night would be steep for me but it was a special weekend so my friend and I both decided to splurge!
The valet’s were nice, not even sniggering at the ancient Mazda that my friend drove. They treated it and us exactly like the Mercedes, BMW, and Jaguars continuously rolling in and their owners which I thought was a nice touch and made us feel a little bit less like the riff raff rolling in!
The front desk was great and the room was amazing!! I would stay here again if I could get another deal like this. I would recommend it to anyone who can splurge or find a similar deal as it’s gorgeous and an experience everyone should have at least once in their lives!
