We took an evening cruise on the Lady Douglas, a nice old river paddle boat, from Port Douglas up the main river in search of crocodiles!

The cruise was lovely in balmy weather up the salty tidal river. We saw many water birds along the way even feeding some of the sea hawks that caught chuncks of meat in the air and flew off with their prize, to feed their young. We could see the nest high up on the rocks.

Finally we saw our first crocodile, the boat nearly rolled over as everybody rushed to that ide to watch the crodile swim by, then we saw several lazing on the banks in the wet mud. No one thought of swimming around here!

Soon it was time to return, another lovely experiance as it was by now sunset, all very pretty.
