The LOFT - Luxury Boutique Hostel Nov 12, 2016
The LOFT - Luxury Boutique Hostel, but only in the name (proper name is Wannabe Hostel).

Name must be chosen by some “millennial” kid that thinks that everything he/she touches is luxury… or good… Anyway, the only “luxury” item was bide so that you can wash your ass in style. But I don’t really see it as a luxury item anyway (any Japanese toilet would be super-luxury by that measurement).

The biggest issue I had was absence of the common area where people can hang out. I mean, there is outside terrace, that is probably nice during the summer, but I was there during winter and it is cold, so only option is kitchen and its 5 chairs… Kitchen and the outside terrace lock out at 10pm and reopen at 8:30am… therefore you are stuck in your room and that is about it, I mean it is called luxury.

Hostel is in the great place, very close to the metro line and the downtown area. It is between two hills so you can avoid climbing up and down the steep stairways. It is in the quiet street, on the first floor and you get there by ringing the doorbell or they gave you the code to enter. Staircase is ugly and in the need of repair. The door has no handle so you wiggle the key and work your way in. Staff is usually around because most of them (if not all) live in one of the rooms. They keep the rooms and hostel area pretty clean and that is a big plus.

Most of the things in the hostel area new and good quality. Kitchen is very modern and features all basic things that you would need for enjoyable cooking and food preparing. In the morning hostel staff is preparing the breakfast which is consisted of pancakes or bread and then you can smear some jam and butter around. They also make French press coffee which is pretty good. This kind of “Americanized” breakfast should be illegal in the country that has fantastic food and great breakfast options, and if you are not on the super tight budget or starving, please go to the any of the bakeries and order breakfast which usually costs around 3e.

Bedroom was totally solid, with few bunk beds and large closets that have space for all your belongings. Every bed has its lamp and power outlet and that is the standard in most of the hostels around the Europe. Bathrooms are really spacious and almost looking like something I would have in my home. It is a bit of the timing issue to find one open because there are only two bathrooms in the place.

Area behind the hostel used to be some kind of factory, or maybe still is… There is a large factory chimney right next to the hostel terrace. Terrace is on the other building, so you get to that place over the small bridge from the kitchen. I really wish that it was a bit warmer so that I could enjoy that place.
