The Kulen Waterfalls Siem Reap Reviews
Waterfall from the river blessed by the 1000 lingas Apr 02, 2013
I had taken a car to go up to thee source of thee sacred river flowing over a 1000 or more lingas and tumble down as a stream near a now dilapidated Khmer monument, said to be where thee kingdom originated and there after left to be inhabited by thee sages of both Hindu and Buddhist religions.
The site is now a popular picnic spot and consists of a stream which flows into a 20 to 25 meter gorge to make up thee waterfall and flow further down once again.
Pleasant in shade thee site is full of open cottages where families pay to have their meal from thee restaurants around. Children take a dip or swim in thee cool water which is clean and not murky as one would have thought it to be.
I merely thought of visiting this place for thee sake of seeing a waterfall where a portion of thee movie Tomb Raider was pictured, but once I got to see it,my mind involuntarily entertained the thought of extending thee stay for thee view was spectacular even though thee waterfall was not too big or tall. Having spent a few hours sitting nearby I strolled past thee souvenir shops and learnt that every bargain may begin withe a dollar. The restaurants nearby served good food and do have toilets to ease out. Never mind thee crowd if there is one you still have a lot of space for you to fit in into theis serene and peaceful natural 8the century wonderland.
