The Killin Hotel Reviews
Quiet countryside location Feb 13, 2013
I booked this Hotel for the very short Scottish Highlands trip in February. Paid only £90 for 2-night stay for 2 people with breakfast and one 3-course meal which was a steal as normally the price averages at £190.
The hotel is located in a quiet village of Killin with its amazing Falls of Dochart within a waking distance. It is set on banks of River Lochay with views of the mountains in the background.
Arriving very late in the evening, there reception was closed, but we could enter freely and collect our room key from reception counter left for us in an envelope.
The twin room was specious with all the required facilities - tea/coffee bar, TV, wi-fi and all toilet essentials included.
Bed was comfy with spare pillows and blankets.
Bathroom was clean and equipped with shower rather than bath (which I do prefer).
Breakfast was served in a breakfast hall and included a selection of tea, coffee, cereal, toast, fruit, yogurts, sweet cakes and cooked breakfast.
3-course meal was served in a conservatory and there was a variety of traditional Scottish meals made with local produce to chose from.
Service during the meals was quick and meals were well cooked and tasty.
Reception staff was very cheerful, helpful and informative which made us feel very welcome.
Parking is available as the hotel has its own off-road parking.
We had no issues during our stay in the hotel and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a quiet escape in Scottish Highlands.
