The Jet Bus from Luxor to Hurghada, Egypt Travel Reviews

Dec 20, 2007
I decided to take the bus to Hurghada. There are basically two options. The first is the Upper Egypt Bus Company and the other is Jetbus. I chose Jetbus because the office was in downtown Luxor, while the Upper Egypt Bus Company’s office is located close to the airport. This meant having to deal with the hassle of cab drivers. The price of the one-way ticket was only 30 Egyptian Pounds (about $5.45 US). The big advantage that Jetbus has over the other company is that for some reason they are not required to travel in a convoy to Hurghada. Therefore you get there much quicker.

The drive was scheduled to take off at 8pm and left a few minutes later than that. It was not crowded and there were many empty seats. Overall, the drive was pleasant although the driver really liked handling the bus like a sports car on the curves and the individual reading lamps did not work, but for $5, there is not a lot to gripe about.
