The Irish Pub by Fatty - Dusseldorf - TravBuddy

Fatty's is located in the heart of Duesseldorf's Altstadt, a stone's throw from the train station. I can't say what this place would be like on the weekends, as I happened on it on a late Tuesday night when everything was winding down - as far as Irish pubs go, this one is pretty much like any other, a dive. The reason I'm writing this review is not so much as a recommendation as an homage to the spirit of travel and the coolness of Irish bartenders, who are, I suppose the reason we all flock to these establishments the world over, often calling them a home away from home. Let's just say, we were three girls, stranded overnight in a strange city, with no place to go, dead tired from a month of backpacking, trying to stay awake long enough not to miss our morning flight back home. He was a quirky bartender with a dry sense of humor, who babysat us until 6 am and then gave us his ireland flag, to boot! where ever you are, man, bless you!
