A bit of the bad bugs issue Mar 10, 2013
I went to this place two times during my stay in Singapore, and I left second time only because they had little guests in bed that I did not like that much. Hostel is very clean and they do care about cleaning beds every time someone leaves, but that does not stop bugs from hiding deep in to the bed crevasses. Only for that reason I can’t recommend this place, but here is the review.

Hostel is located in the best part of the Little India, just a bit away from shops and food parlors, but close to all kinds of transport. You can get to the center of the city in 25 minute normal walk or catch the air-conditioned bus/metro. This is one of the rare hostels in the area that is not fixing their price. Most of the places have different prices for weekends and they have one day during the week when price is really cheap so that they can pop out in search on hostel sites. Watch for that trickery.

Street where hostel is located has bunch of grocery shops, some bars with skanky girls sitting outside and many great small Indian restaurants. In most of them you can get great meal for 5-6 Singapore Dollars.

Hostel has superb organization, building is new and well planned. There are three floors of rooms with good bathrooms, showers and lots of metal lockers. In the passages they installed computer stations if you don’t have your own comp. Bathroom on the bottom floor has only two baths and showers and the doors are not closing well. Dorms on that floor don’t have windows and they are a bit smelly in the morning. Avoid that issue by moving on the higher floors.

Reception is in control of everything that is happening in the lobby and living room area. They really made that lobby nice with high tables that double for kitchen and place where you eat your breakfast (included in the price), couple hot water machines are always there for your free coffee and tea and behind that there is bunch of sofas. Part of the room looks like stage and I can see that place being a club or small concert venue. Large TV is connected with all kinds of gadgets and you can play movies from your comp if you like. Unfortunately TV program sucks in every way and most of the programs are not in English. Hostel is constantly full with people and it is a great place to meet other travelers. Sleeping areas are no shoes area and you’ll leave your shoes before you start climbing the stairs. Outside the hostel they have small veranda with couple of tables.

If you ever go there don’t miss their free tricycle ride. Be aware that you will be riding for around 5 hours and come back sweaty and tired… but with a big smile on your face and stomach full of local cuisine. Reception will help you with all your information needs and tell you what to see in the city. They also have maps you can get.

Without bed bugs they are excellent hostel, but in this shape find somewhere else. I was there in February 2013.

Clean, social and fun Oct 25, 2010
This hostel is one of the better I have seen in South-East Asia. Although around $20 a night, it boasts great facilities. The showers and toilets are seperate, which makes a pleasant change, and one even has the choice of warm water! The dorms were well-spaced, and not as cramped or stuffy as others I have seen. The Aircon is on a timer, but each dorm has its own fan for during the day. There are computers located all around the hostel, so you never need to queue or wait to check your Facebook. Breakfast is included in the daily rate, but make it yourself and clean up! The communal area is cosy and a great way to meet people. Optimal location, great cheap curries around the corner, easy walk to shopping malls, cinema and underground... I'd recommend it to anyone!
