Best Ham Breakfast! Apr 24, 2011
The Hungry Bear Cafe is in front of the motel and RV park, situated 14 miles east of Forks, in the middle of nowhere. I stopped to have breakfast after leaving Neah Bay (which has no food establishments that serve breakfast). The feel of the cafe is kind of a mix between rustic, roadside bar, and country diner with down home cooking and friendly people.

Since it was Easter Sunday, I opted for the ham steak breakfast. The ham was about a half inch thick with little fat. It wasn't salty and probably the best ham I've ever eaten in a restaurant. The hash browns were just how I liked them - shredded and browned throughout. The coffee wasn't as good of a quality as I'm used to, but it did the job of waking me up.

It's worth a stop on your way home from a weekend getaway.
