The hostel was actually really nice and similar in design to Coffs Harbour YHa, purpose-built and like a hotel. The internet area was actually a built-in Global Gossip cafe, it was a Nomads hostel which is a similar company to YHA and it had it's own tour desk and decent bar with bistro. We arrived at our hotel, the Novotel Cairns Oasis Resort, at the estimated time. Normally we would have stayed at the Hotel Cairns, but according to Judy, this hotel was better. She was right and we didn't complained. We got our keys and went to our room… Day 15: Cairns |

We finally finished eating and got back on the bus and when we were right around the corner from our hotel one of the students freaked out and it turned out she had left her envelope with her credit card and money back in the restaurant so we had to drive all the way back and get it. We finally got to the hotel around… Finally in Australia!! |

…was amused at the 'Arrivals' reception for the miniature planes and helicopters - a door beside a hangar leading to a miniature hotel style reception - Heathrow it ain't!
