Monuments to behold Dec 13, 2008
If you enjoy looking at history and view ancient monuments then you have to see The Hippodrome of Constantinople also known as Sultan Ahmet Square. The Hippodrome of Constantinople was an epicenter for the sporting and a social center of Constantinople which is now called Istanbul. You can see the remains of the Serpent Column, which originally set in the Temple of Apollo at Delphi in Greece. You can also see the Obelisk of Thutmose III, which originally set in the Temple of Karnak in Luxor in Egypt. Then, you can see the remains of the Walled Obelisk, which was originally covered with gilded bronze plaques. Trust me! You can see pictures online of these sites, but nothing can compare to visually seeing their history and massive sizes for yourself.
