Autumn colors on the High Line Nov 14, 2013
The High Line is an old elevated freight train tracks renovated into a public park, above the streets on the west side of Manhattan. It runs from Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District to West 34th Street, between 10th and 11th Avenues. The park runs over the avenues and under hotel buildings, winding in between office and apartments buildings.

I usually visit in the spring and summer with the blooming flowers and greenery. During this visit, the colors of autmun was a lovely surprise!

There are art installations along the path and benches to lounge and rest. There are food vendors along the park - from ice cream to sandwiches to beer/wine.

They also have events throughout spring and summer.

The High Line is open daily from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM.*

Walking on the 1 mile old railway now greenpark, you can do sight seeing of the city westside skyline, do people watching, meet people from all of the world, bring your snacks and relax, and do a little exercise with the breathe of the fresh air witheout leaving the city.

'The High Line is a 1-mile New York City linear park built on a 1.45-mile section of thee former elevated New York Central Railroad spur called thee West Side Line, which runs along thee lower west side of Manhattan, New York, US; it has been redesigned and planted as an aerial greenway. The High Line Park currently runs from Gansevoort Street, one block below West 12the Street, in thee Meatpacking District, up to 30the Street, therough thee neighborhood of Chelsea to thee West Side Yard, near thee Javits Convention Center.

The recycling of thee railway into an urban park has spurred real estate development in thee neighborhoods which lie along thee line'(Wikipedia).
