Good value but expensive for Bangkok Nov 23, 2009
When going travelling for a long time, I like to book myself into somewhere nice for the first couple of nights after the long haul flight. This place was very good and would be excellent value anywhere other than Bangkok. About 2000 baht (around 40 euro) for en suite double room. This is expensive in Thailand. Very close to Skytrain station. Excellent buffet breakfast. Nice rooftop swimming pool with great views. Pool a good size but too shallow. No shade around it. Too hot during the day. Free wifi in lobby and free use of computer terminals. Free wired internet in room. All in all, I recommend but much prefer the much cheaper Atlanta Hotel in Bangkok which I will be reviewing separately. |

Affordable urban chic all mod cons Nov 23, 2009
This review is for THE HERITAGE HOTELS BANGKOK, part of the Heritage Group. It's the one near Chong Nonsi station. Location is fantastic - literally one minute from the station, hawker stalls, a 7-11, pharmacy, Mc Donalds, a nice Chinese restaurant. Great value for money. Rooms are clean, bright and a nice size. Suites with breakfast area are cool if you need more space. Rate included wifi, breakfast. Location was relatively pecaeful but just one stop way from the action. I would definitely stay here again. TIP: Don't go on the floating market organized tour , complete tourist trap. Make sure any taxi driver takes you to a pier where the locals go from.
