The Hatchet - Bristol - TravBuddy

The Hatchet is the world's most friendly, least scene-ey, Rock pub. It is, conveniently enough, near the Carling Academy, but it was there first - it turns out that my dad got drunk there several hundred years ago, which was a strange conversation and I will tell you all about it another time.

The Hatchet is friendly, and although it is mostly frequented by rockers, bikers, and people with strange hair, you won't get treated like a weirdo if you don't dress like that. I go in a lot and I still dress like an Indie Kid circa 1998. Drinks are average priced for the area, there is a small beer garden and a great playlist music wise, and plenty of places to sit. There is also an upstairs, which has recently been changed and now has pool tables. They also sometimes host indie, rock or goth club nights. The bouncers and bar staff are all nice.
