If you want to stay in Devil's Bridge, this place is a must. OK, so it is the only hotel there, but that is by-the-by; the Hafod Hotel is excellent value. Officially, it is a three-star, but to my mind this place is beyond that. The food is excellent: smoked haddock for breakfast; fabulous bar meals for the evening - I can recommend the gammon steak. Good beers on tap, a pool table, a reading room, darts and satellite TV in the bar for the football.
Ian had a gripe about unemptied bins, and the shower in their room was a bit airline, but the room Tots and I were in was great (check the view in the review photo). OK, so there was three terrestrial TV channels and, bizarrely, the Discovery Channel on the room TV, but so what? The beds were comfortable and I didn't have to share with Matt and his nocturnal rumblings.
Living in London also makes one forget about quiet. At night, there is nothing to disturb the peace and that is joyous. The staff were all very friendly and, best of all, we got a three-nights-for-two out of season deal.
I was very, very happy.
Not a bad view...
