Restaurant with Nice Country Setting May 13, 2013
Recently I had customers in town so this review is unlike most of my others in that this place is local. However, it was so good, that I felt compelled to write a review for any of you who may find yourself in the Greater Hartford, CT area and are looking at a nice restaurant off the beaten path. I selected this place because I though it would be nice to show some foreigners the beautiful New England foliage and this looked like the perfect spot. The restaurant is inside of a circa 1800's grist mill (hence the name) and is perched literally atop a waterfall along the Farmington river with nothing around but trees and wild-life. There is no bad seat in the house to capture the view and the food is spectacular. It is Zagat rated and has a diverse menu to fit any taste - prices are fair too. UPDATE: The Grist Mill lost their lease at this location and have moved. Food is still goo but the location is no longer as picturesque.
