The venue was cool, the lake was nasty Jun 19, 2008
So i thought while i was in Salt Lake City i should go check out the Great Salt Lake. Don't get me wrong the lake is fuckin huge and maybe on another side it's a little different. But where I was was pretty fuckin' nasty. The water level was so far receeded that you had to walk a long way to even get to it, which really wasn't a big deal, but once there you realize the ground is actually moving. It's not dirt but fuckin sand flies/fleas of some sort. It's like watching a brown rug move around your floor. The water was all hot and dingy with what i'll assume is red algae of sorts. I thought i'd sit for a minute and soak up some sun as it was a perfect day for sunning. Well the flies decided i was edible so that really sucked. On the way to the water i started counting dead birds. Yea dead birds. Rotting corpses of, well, i dont know how many birds because i stopped counting around 100.

But don't get me wrong. It wasnt all bad. The Great Saltair is actually a gift shop/ concert venue. Unfortunatly there was no concert going on at the time but they were setting up for one. the venue looked pretty badass fromthe inside. Really old style and look to it. I would definitly go back for a show. And the gift shop wasnt too bad. It was a gift shop full of the stupid shit you'd expect so i decided to grab some postcards for a buddy. Well the cashier was having a hard time with the register but he was funny as hell and made for some good laughs.

So all in all the lake was fuckin nasty but the venue was worth a visit.

unfortunatly my camera is smashed til June 27th so i apologize for no visual evidence.
