The Grand Hotel Minneapolis - a Kimpton Hotel

I definitely recommend this hotel to travelers staying in Downtown Minneapolis. Its location makes it a short walk to most Downtown venues.

Its classic style is beautifully old fashioned, almost in a boutique/art deco way, yet it has all the modern comfort. The bed and furniture are elegant and comfortable. The bathroom has both a tub and a separate shower. The complimentary fitness center is a must see, it's probably the largest I have ever used in a hotel. There are a swimming pool and spa as well though I did not have the chance to check them out.

The hotel staff is both friendly and helpful which makes up for great service. Turndown service with Godiva chocolates is a nice touch.

Things that could be improved/added (nothing's perfect); complimentary breakfast, more electric plugs, coffee machine in the room and some soda vending machines somewhere in the hotel... probably too basic for a hotel of this class.

Tip to save a few bucks on parking: If you have a car and stay over the weekend, you might be able to save a few bucks with nearby street parking instead of using their valet parking.
