The Grand Canal is the largest canal in Venice, and also the most busiest water traffic corridors here in Italy. Imagine how many people who live there have to travel by the water bus and by private water taxis day by day.

2001 was an amazing year for me.  I got engaged, I quit my job, I got married, I moved to another state, and I traveled abroad for the first time in my life.  What better place to begin than the magical, romantic city of Venice!  Sinc…canals eventually entering onto the Grand Canal.  I experienced full sensory overload at the stunning sights and sounds of Venice and all her glory.  Our driver pulled up to what is considered a "dock".  It was about the size of two 2"x4" planks… A new husband, a fresh passport and a ticket to Italy!

On the final approach to Venice Saint Lucia train station the woman the other side of the isle suddenly chirps out “Are you American sir?”.  I inform her I’m not but English.  “Oh…”  Disappointed.   “Do you hav…Canal.   Almost all buildings along the Grand Canal accordingly back straight onto the water, often with ‘front’ doors and steps right into (or sinking into) the water so again only to be viewed by taking this trip.   Try with a little cunning and patience… Venice : Can falling in love and getting lost become the same thing?

i kept tossing and turning in my bed! arrrghhhhhh the bed was hard! lol it felt like i was sleeping in a sack of rice! lol it didnt also helped that giovanni was snoring his way lol still got my earplugs but i still could hear him hahaha, i wish i h…grand canal - and the beautiful architectures in and across the fish market - it was gorgeous! just outside of the pescaria is the street going to rialto - rua di orifici - it wasnt still bustling with activitiy and shops are just starting to open because its still… l'arte di venezia, bellissima.... so perfect... until.. why do i always have heebeejeebies?!

July 17 was the day we had reservations to tour the Clock Tower.  We gathered at the Correr Museum, I had left my horse in the park, and together with a family of four and the tour guide, we headed for the Clock Tower.    Built in …Grand Canal.   A traghetto is a retired gondola used to transport passengers back and forth across the Grand Canal at a single location.   There are seven traghetto stations along the Canal.   While waiting for the traghetto to return to our side of the CanalPark the horse, climb the Clock Tower.
