Perth's The Globe Restaurant: A Perfect Date Place! Mar 19, 2011
The title says it all. If you are looking for a great place to wine and dine your sweetheart, celebrate your wedding anniversary, or to simply impress a new date in Perth, look up the Parmelia Hilton Perth Hotel and you'll find The Globe beautifully lit (in the evening, of course) at the ground floor.

Now, let's see if this will convince you to book your next date at The Globe... ;)

Ambiance: Private, quiet, cozy, elegant, dimly lit but just right (I told you, perfect for a date), fine dining, has a separate bar area, looks great in pictures

Service: Friendly, courteous, efficient, they do not hover (I told you, perfect for a date), they are happy to take your picture for you, knowledgeable of their Menu and provides suggestions (which I find is a plus in service- don't you hate it when the waiter doesn't know anything about the food they are serving?)

Menu: Fabulous steaks!...that's all I can say because we went straight to the main course ha ha (as we were expecting it's going to be filling- and believe me it was!)! It was hard to choose though because everything sounded so good!

Here's a quick rundown of:

*Entrée choices (AU$23-26) - Oysters, seared scallops, butter poached chilled baby beef, wild mushroom souffle, prawns in baby snapper, braised cuttlefish, and crispy pork belly

*Main (AU$34-49) - Angus sirloin, Harvey scotch fillet, slow cooked Beef fillet, hoisin Salmon, pumpkin & spinach Rotolo, Kangaroo Loin (!?!), Scallop & Prawn Risotto, baked Barramundi fillet, crispy skin Squab breast, and Lamb Loin

My Menu Recommendation:

Angus Sirloin (250gm $42) or Harvey Scotch Fillet (400gm $49)- served with lyonnaise potatoes, caramelized onions, oyster mushrooms, charred asparagus, café de paris butter, red wine jus... Medium rare, yumyumyum!!!

Wine selections: A lot! I even saw really crazy expensive ones!

Value for money: Your date IS worth'it right?! ;)

Aaand finally...

On the down side (but not really impacting), parking might be a problem, as you need to find vacant slots along the street/nearby ...also, watch out for those one-way streets or you'll end up going all the way around!

So...what do you think? ...Bon appétit! :)

Nice thorough review - you even threw in the disclaimer at the end concerning the prices and menu selections; too funny!! Great job. If I ever end up in Perth, will check it out. Matt
