The Globe Ice Wall
The Globe Ice Wall Reviews
Ice cold climbing Mar 22, 2009
The Globe is an indoor ice wall for climbing. The temperature lies between -10 and -20 degrees celcius. Pretty cold.
Ice climbing is quite different from normal rock climbing. The technic and gear are a little different. You need crampons, ice axes, a helmet and D-shoes. When you go climbing in The Globe you can rent all the gear: shoes (european sizes 37-47), crampons, soft shell jacket (S-XXL), helmet, gloves and ice axes. You can bring your own gear, but you need to let it have a check. The minimum age is 14. Climbing time is half an hour. Maximum four people at the same time. There is an instructor to help you out with all the gear and the climbing. English is not a problem. This is well organised. It's professional. They take care of the safety rules. Prices: 25 euros for one-five people including gear 17,50 euros for six or more people incl gear 17,50 euros if you bring your own gear The Globe has some specials for team events or school trips. More info about that on the website. It's advised to make a reservation on time. Pics will be uploaded soon! Part of the The Hague, 2009. Ice climbing / snowboarding meet up travel blog |

The Globe has an indoor ice wall where it's always freezing. With four people at the same time we had 45 minutes to try out the climbing with ice axes and crampons. Quite different from normal climbing, but a lot of fun! Some of us climbed… A cool TB/CS meet up: ice and snow |
