Right amount of Frog could use more onion Jun 20, 2011
IF your ever in Bermuda it is practically mandatory to stop by the dockyards and do a visit to the Frog and Onion.

The frog and onion has three things going for it:

1. Its expensive but not bermuda expensive, that means you can have some grub and a few beers and come out under 100 dollars.

2. Cool vibe, also music at night.

3. The big ben - a 55 ounce beer, thats like your very own six pack, and you get to keep the glass when your done. However the very best thing is that it is one of the only places in bermuda that makes their own suds, and they're pretty damn good.

DO they have frog? Nope, probably a good thing but they do have lots and lots of onions, specifically the bermuda onion, and item of fabled deliciousness.

Touristy but fun Jul 14, 2011
So we went to this place after visiting the Boat Docks, which is a little touristy and has places to shop. The food was good, and they have lots of good choices for beer on tap. If you're willing to pay a little extra you can get an awesome souvenier glass, which has excessive amounts of beer in it. (See pics below for an example of what might happen if you actually attempt to drink all this beer by yourself.) Spliting this giant glass of beer actually led to me and Stevo getting on the wrong ferry and winding up in St. Georges, instead of in Hamilton. To correct the problem we had to ride a bus around the island for almost 2 hours. Oops! Overall though Frog and Onion was a fun place to visit, was tasty and had interesting maritime themed decorations. Also..everything on the island of Bermuda is super expensive! Everytime we ate out we got killed on the food, which was true of the Frog and Onion as well.

Bangers and Mash at the Frog and Onion Sep 10, 2010
We definitely wanted to try the Frog and Onion for lunch on our last day in Bermuda. The pub was right across from the National/Maritime Museum and was an easy stop after seeing the musuem. It was pretty crowded with both diners and drinkers! We found a table, but space was at a premium.

I ordered the Short Arm Sausage and Mash. (I didn't want to leave Bermuda without having had Bangers and Mash and had put it off for two previous pubs!) It was worth the wait. Delicious. The Bermuda sausage was thick and so good!

The Frog and Onion also has typical fare like Fish and Chips, meat pies, and Pasties as well as burgers, sandwiches, pizza, and seafood.

Beers from the local Dockyard Bewing Company are available. They challenge patrons to try the 50 oz. Big Ben and ring a bell when someone orders it.
