The French Laundry Fenton Reviews
Fine dining in a friendly environment Mar 25, 2012
This restaurant is pretty well known in the area for being a special type of place. The owner originally ran a print shop in the same location but one day decided that the printing business was no longer what he wanted to do - and the french laundry was born.
The restaurant is split in two halves. The front entrance area contains a small bakery that servers fine breads and pastries, some of which are made on site but the majority come from Zingerman's in Ann Arbor. They also have small items like fruit salad and a wide variety of coffees and cheeses. The back half is the main restaurant and bar area. The tables are each unique and there's always a fresh flower at each table.
The food is exquisite, dishes vary from homely meatloaf to the some quite fancy hard-to-pronounce french dishes. There's a wide variety within the menu and something for everyone. They're open for breakfast too and in my opinion that's where the kitchen really shines.. The upscale take on the classic french toast or yogurt parfait is a great way to start your day.
The staff is fantastic and the ownership puts a lot of weight on the quality of their service. This shows through with a friendly and knowledgeable waitstaff.
The French Laundry isn't the cheapest place in town, but if you're coming through town and want to experience something special it's not to be missed.
