My girlfriend and I went up to Chapel Hill to have a girls night. Its close to UNC so there are a lot of youngsters about but not to the point of annoyance. The hotel is right on the main street with bars, restaraunts, etc. The hotel doesn't look like much from the outside but when you step into the guest rooms-you realize what the draw is. Stunningly appointed, modern, chic rooms. Amazing bed and massive shower. Huge balcony with table and four chairs overlooking Franklin Street (this may deter some because of noise but its not bad at all and the hotel provides, along with many pillow options a Dream Machine) We were people watching so we loved the balcony. Its a non smoking hotel. No pool but thats all it was lacking. The staff is absolutely top notch. Flat screen tv, in room sound system (as in speakers in the ceiling), desk, bed, makeup vanity, coffee maker, safe, robes..the whole chibang. Another little thing I liked was that next to the bed is a switch. The switch is for you to say whether you want "maid service" or "do not disturb" displayed outside your room..no wasteful paper door hangers. Also, each room has a doorbell. As long as you don't mind a little street noice (and I mean minimal..not like Chicago, or a big city) then this is a great romantic getaway for young couples who want to do a little partying as well.
tip: order the home made potato chips..mmmmmmmmmmmmm
