Partying all night long at the Fort Mar 07, 2008
If you want a taste of where the beautiful people of Manila converge, then head to the Fort at Taguig for all night partying. Remember to dress up! Filipinos are quite stylish, and you do not want to be turned away at the door because you're wearing thongs, shorts and a singlet.
Start with dinner at one of the places at Serendra. Then while at Serendra, head on over to Fez to start the night. Fez is a quaint little Moroccan/ fusion-style pub, where the munchies are quite delicious and the drinks are great. Unless you want the night to end early, do NOT order the flying tiger shaker. Fez is cozy and quite homey, and you'll definitely be tempted to stay there the whole night. If you're in Manila for a short period, do not give in to the temptation--you'll definitely be missing out! From Fez, make your way over to Ascend at the nearby Bonifacio High Street, where a party usually happens every night of the week. Three different genres are played at the club's different rooms-- the VIP, the lounge, and the main room. Expect to pay about P600 consumable cover charge to get in. The mojitos are quite nice here! If you're still not happy with Fez, make your way over to the Fort Strip, where several clubs are there for the exploring. Piedra, particularly on Friday nights, is quite happening. Hip-hop music is the highlight, and you'll definitely find yourself in a tight squeeze as bodies gyrate around you. Head on over the Embassy Cuisine for a more classy atmosphere, where house or trance music usually plays. It's an upscale bar, but the staff is nonetheless quite friendly. If you're REALLY up for the party, then head to the Embassy Super Club. It's THE place to be if you want to see and be seen. Like Ascend, expect to pay around P600 cover charge. But trust me, it's worth it! To curb the midnight munchies, try Embassy Cafeteria (try their tapsilog) or North Park (Chinese food). The nightlife is usually kicking on Mondays, Wednesdays, and the weekends. |

While waiting for my hubby's visa extension approval, we went to visit Fort Santiago. Just a few minutes walk from Bureau of Immigration, and along the way you can also see one of the beautiful mini-Basilica in Manila ~ Manila Cathedral. I just love its architecture.

…asked Erning then to drive me back to Manila Cathedral in his calesa to get my car while Juan, Adam and Elaine waited for me at the Fort main entrance. I checked my truck if everything was still intact and paid the tourguide before I drove off to fetch my friends at Fort Santiago. It was a long and tiring day for all of us but everybody was happy with the tour… Manila Day Trip |

Fort Santiago. The fort was built in 1571 to protect the
entrance to the Pasig River. The
Japanese used it as a POW camp between 1942 and 1945 and so this place has its
fair share of history.

Fort Santiago , and other places(we haven’t decided anything yet). We walked there. While we were on our way, we were approached by a guy and he asked us to take a spin with his horse cart. He said we only have to pay 50 for a spin… No!No! Its USD50 not P50 |
