The Floating Restaraunts Of Olango, Cebu

Hey Guys!

I'm sitting here on Mactan Island at a little internet cafe down the street from Cadillac Cafe.  I'm staying at the Cadillac Cafe and I love it. Saw a review about the place on this travel buddy website and decided to see for myself.  The place is so nice. Big, Modern, Aircon rooms, good food, and hot and cold water.  Rented a motorbike at the Cadillac this morning and went on the "Olango Tour".  One of the girls at the Cadillac rode on the back of the bike and showed me around. (by the way, she was beautiful!...that's another story....)  We road the 125 Honda to the beach, where 2 big local boys picked it up and carried it on board a large "pump boat".  Me and my "tour guide"  got on board the pump boat and after a thirty minute sail across a beautiful calm blue sea, we reached Olango Island.  Two more boys carried the bike ashore.  Me and my companion boarded the bike and she showed me the way to the far side of Olango.  We parked the bike on the beach and she waved to a tiny restaurant floating about
500 meters off shore.   A smiling brown old man rowed from the restaurant and picked us up.  He rowed us to the restaurant and when we got inside, there were about six other couples there eating lunch.  Some had boats tied alongside the restaurant.  We had huge seafood meal and a few beers each. The whole meal only cost about $10. And then we sat and just talked and smoked cigs for about another hour or so with some of the other guests we'd met there.  We were then rowed back to the shore and drove the motorbike back to the ferry, and continued back to the Cadillac Cafe.  What a day in paradise!  I highly recommend it.  I'm renting another bike tomorrow, and riding down to a dive camp calle Moalboal.  I'll be here til May 3rd...Drop by and I'll by you a drink!
