Breakfast with a view! Jun 28, 2009
We decided to go to the Fish Hopper for breakfast this morning. We found a parking place behind the restaurant... Parking it at a premium in Kailua Kona so it was great finding a place quickly.

Once inside we found the window seats were already taken so we sat in the next row back. This was fine as we could see the ocean perfectly. Although there were three of us by coincidence we all three picked the Greek Omelet. It was made with feta, red, yellow and green peppers, sun dried tomatoes, and kalamata olives. I ordered my omelet without eggs as I sometimes have a reaction... (they cooked the potatoes and ingredients without eggs). My sister, Valerie, ordered a mimosa and was charmed when it arrived with an orchid on the rim.... The waiter, Greg was very sweet and kept checking to see if we were lacking anything.

Our breakfast came out quickly. It was really nice of the cook to give me an additional serving of rice to make up for the eggs... I often order omelets without eggs and this cook was the first to give me an "extra" to make up for no eggs.. very nice of him.

The Omelets were perfect! cooked just right with just the right blend. We also got coffee and our cups were filled quickly when they got low. Our toast was perfect too.

We have eaten at The Fish Hopper for dinner several meals but this was the first breakfast! We give them high marks for taste and presentation. Consistantly good!

We went to The Fish Hopper twice. Both times we got margaritas that were excellent. (two different bar tenders) We had an excellent meal. The presentation was beautiful and the food was well cooked and really good. Linda and I had macadamia crusted chicken with coconut prawns served with mashed molokai sweet potatoes papaya and mango salsa with citrus sauce. It was perfect., David had a fancy seafood Alfredo. It was cooked well and was presented well. David really liked it as it was quite different. Ray's meal was also quite good. Everyone reported to me as they knew I would need it for the review. We would definately recommend this great restaurant. It was a fun atmosphere, clean, ocean view and excellent drinks and food.
