Filipino Market Mar 09, 2009
A few days ago, I heard someone said that the Filipino Market is not a safe place to visit.
I’m here to clarify that it is a safe place to visit. I would never jeopordise people's safety by saying that a place is safe when it's actually not.

Tourism Malaysia and Sabah Tourism would not list this place as one of the attractions here if it was a dangerous place.
Infact, it would not even be in the itinerary of any tour operator/ tour company.

If you check the new edition of the lonely planet travel guide book, the Filipino market is also listed.

I would not recommend staying in the Sinsuran area though especially when one is alone. Hotels at the Warisan Square Shopping Complex which are just nearby are ok because of the 24 hours security there.

Note: The Filipino Market includes the food stalls, the fish/vegetables stalls and the handicraft stalls

If you prefer to shop with air-conditioning on because you don't like the hot weather, I would recommend buying handicrafts at the shopping malls around KK. Perhaps it is best to ignore the Sunday Market too because it is an open market
