This a great place to visit during your stay in Chicago, IL. The pricing is free for military and veterans I am sure of. I recommend checking their web site for more info on the pricing. The time frame I went was last year prior to coming to Africa for this past year. However it was great though, their theme was all about Africa and it's history as well as African Americans travels to America. I saw plenty of history on slavery, religion, and it's background. You will see plenty of photos on my page as well.
They offered many attractions through out the museum, and really huge. You could see everything an about two hours. Recommend this spot to anyone and locals. Any questions please ask, God Bless ;) |

One of the premier natural history museums in the world, The Field Museum of Chicago never disappoints. The major attraction right now is, of course, "Sue" the most complete T. rex specimen in the world. The museum is also home to several permanent displays (Ancient Egypt, Native Americans, gems and minerals), but my personal favorite is the rotating exhibits. For example, on my last visit I saw "Mythical Beasts" which was a look at how different cultures interpret different mythical creatures like unicorns, yeti, and dragons. These exhibits are always extremely thorough and generally have spared no expense (Note: which means most require an additional entrance fee on top of the museum admission). The staff is always accommodating and extremely knowledgeable (definitely take advantage of this!). Various free guided tours are available daily (see posted info in the lobby area). Also, check out the website for info on special events like evening tours and exhibit openings.

A fantastic collection of Natural Science exhibits from the permanent ones to the special exhibitions. The Field, as it is commonly referred to, is one of my favorite places to visit in Chicago. I've been several times already and could visit again and again and see things that I have missed on previous visits.
