Best night out in Beijing - Drinks & Dining Mar 23, 2008
I absolutely love the Face in Beijing. The place offer a choice of 3 different restaurants; Chinese (Jia), Thai (Lan Na Thai) and Indian (Hazara) as well as a bar where one can play pool or kick back and relax with a drink or a glass of wine.
On the Face website, one can read that the structure surrounded by high walls was originally a school, three stories high, with six classes per floor, and at the rear (north side) three laboratories. In the summertime, the big doors are opend up to the garden and one can enjoy the beautiful view while eating. Prices are a bit on the high side, compared to other restaurants in Beijing. However in Face, you get the full experience. |

Streaming down faces and clothes ‘til literally the white aprons and garb of the dumpling chefs (for this ultimately is a feud between two dumpling restaurants that face each other across the street and compete very enthusiastically for customers) are a totality of bright scarlet dye.

…Beijing there is a picture hanging
by Tian'amen Sq, and every little shop seems to be selling books with
Mao saying, prints with his face on and I find it all just weird. Its
like Germany having statues of Hitler all over the country!! This man
killed thousands of people in his reign and yet it looks like they
actively honour him! Rachel is currently reading Wild Swans, a book… There are 9 milion bicycles in Beijing (according to Katie Melua anyways) |

IT was funny, looking up to the banner and see her face, and look down and see her real face. We hurriedly in while the organizers, I supposed thats who they were, were taking a group picture with her, underneath the banner, at the front door. When they saw us approaching the gallery, they literally pulled… Always new surprises |

I’m freaking
out a little and have time to kill until I can talk to someone face to
face. 3:00 finally comes around and I can confirm my flights, which
makes me feel better, but now I’m trying to find a way for the airline
to deliver a message to Mom so she knows I’ll be late… Nothing Like Starting an Adventure with an Adventure! |
