The Escape Reviews

The Escape Jun 02, 2007
I turned 18 on June 2nd whilst I was in Vancouver, WA. My friend Emmy took me and a few of her other friends to The Escape, a gay/lesbian/bi nightclub in neighbouring Portland, OR. Its located on the corner of Stark St and Park Ave. The cover charge is $10 on a Saturday night and we all had to get our hands stamped with a rainbow sign saying 'GAY' which was pretty funny as I was the only gay one out of the group!

The music they play is mainly techno, there are a few ledges where people can get up and dance so me and Emmy headed straight for one. Looking around the club there is a real mix of people, some of the drag queens looked amazing! Its best to keep an open mind and to mill around. There was a projecter beaming a strange Bjork video onto the wall which was pretty funny. And it was nice not to get hit on as most of the people as most of the people there were lesbians! If you're looking for a great place to party in Portland, check out the The Escape and remember to bring some deodorant as it gets so hot in there!
