Situated in the village of Dún Lúiche or Dunlewey in English (meaning the Dún or fort of Lúgh , a small rural community in the Donegal Gaeltacht (or Irish speaking area), lies in unique scenery at the foot of Mt. Errigal (751m). Ionad Cois Locha is a heritage centre founded and run by local people, which explores aspects of the tradition of this part of Donegal including traditional music and the Irish language. They always work to add a new exhibit, ride or feature to each summer season and this year (2008) will be remarkable with the opening of a purpose built concert and drama centre. A great place to visit, it has a comprehensive craft shop and a perfect solution to a wet day in Donegal.

About 10 miles from where I live in Ardsbeg, Gortahork, Donegal, is the magical village of Dunlewey (or Dún Luiche in Gaelic - meaning the Dún or fort of Lúgh). The village is small, really a ribb…Dunlewey Centre which includes a café (basic but wholesome if you stay off the fries!) an excellent crafts shop…
