We found The Dome by incident, and I'm glad we did. This restaurant looked very impressive! They had even crystal lamps in the ladies room!

At first I thought that the building had earlier been a Cathedral, because it looked like one from the inside, but the waitress told us that it had been a bank. After a while she brought us a print about The Dome's history. She did that even if we hadn't asked her to do it!

From the print we found out that the building was old, built and designed by James Craig who also planned the New Town in Edinburgh. Originally it had been Physicians' hall, later The National Bank of Scotland. In 1993 it was sold and converted to a restaurant.

I highly recommend this place!
