The Doll’s House Restaurant Saint Andrews Reviews
Cozy place and one of the best in St. Andrews May 27, 2011
The Doll’s House was a quite nice restaurant situated in the city centre of St. Andrews. When we arrived there was no table available because it was the weekend where all the students were leaving for summer vacation and all the parents were in town to pick them up. The manager said that he would fix a table for us if we went for a drink at the nearby Central Pub, so we followed that plan.
When we came back we were given a table on the first floor in the corner and next to the window, which turned out be nice. The menu had many nice dishes but some of the dishes were so out due to our late arrival. I settled for a cucumber soup as a starter that turned out to be really great and followed up by a local steak of Angus meat that always is good. To the meal I was trying different kinds of their local beer which was really nice too.
The waiters were mostly students and they were all service minded enough but they were not schooled yet in their new tasks. Some of them forgot what we had ordered and the drinks took a while before they were served. We stayed in the restaurants until they closed because we were the last arrivals and we were taking our time to enjoy the food and the drinks. It was a nice place with a cozy appearance and a good ambiance.
