 NYC TravBuddy Meetup at the Delancey, April 2008! Jul 13, 2008
The TB meetup, organized by Jeff, Tasha, and Deb, was held at The Delancey. We had the rooftop reserved just for our group for a few hours with an open bar. The TravBuddy meetup definitely had at LEAST 60 people in the house - it was so much fun! The place was awesome - there were potted trees and plants on the roof, and it was half covered, providing for a little protection from the cool night air. (The roof is retractable, which is perfect for any kind of weather.) I'd definitely go to The Delancey on my own again if I am in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. They have different events every night, from DJs to live music to even rooftop BBQs! The Delancey is right off of the Williamsburg bridge and right near the subway, so drivers and straphangers have easy access to the spot!

A cab ride to The Delancey, the meet up's venue, was only an FDR Drive away (meaning it only takes 10 minutes to get there.) While paying for the open bar, we saw Geoff (the diver from NJ) enter and right behind him was Gloria! After paying, we went… April 2008: NYC TB Meet-up @ the Delancey |

excellent place to start ( the delancey ) with the roughtop just for us ( and allowed to smoke ;) ). It was the best place, choice to start a MUP, some food, open bar ;) ( I started with wine but I also like so much liquors ;) ) and easy to talk with a lot of TB Then… NYC TB M-UP |

We made some more phone calls, exchanged PM's and Natasha came up with The Delancey. I thought, cool, number 1 it was a few minutes from my apartment and number 2, the place was always packed when I passed by it on my way home from work. YES, it's a few minutes walk from the bar Delancey. Great location for me! The stuff there were actually really nice!! So helpful and so friendly!!! The pre-meetup dinner was at 7pm BUT I was SOOOOO hungry so I went to eat something before dinner. I didn't eat anything since this morning… Pre-meetup in New York |
