The Dallas Zoo Reviews
Great family activity May 21, 2011
During peak seasons in the spring and summer Adult admission is $15 and children are $12. This zoo receives less human traffic than the Fort Worth Zoo as it is not considered one of America's top ten zoos.
This does not mean it isn't a great place to enjoy with family! The animal enclosures are actually nicer and larger in Dallas, making the animals appear more at ease. Although it has a bad reputation in our area, it is quite large and a lot of attention was spent to make the experience memorable for you without sacrificing the animals' comfort.
In the zoo there is a 20 minute tram which costs $3 extra a person but allows you a beautiful bird's eye view of the hoofstock. Without this ride you will not be able to see the zebras, antelope and several other species of animal.
In the new (1 year old) Giants of the Savannah section, an affordable hamburger restaurant allows you a great view of the lion enclosure (they like to sun themselves right in front of the window).
In addition to a carousel and children's playground, camel rides are also offered. This is a great half day or day long activity for all the family.
