Visited with a group, enjoyed sharing the full high tea (L35), which is indeed pricey if shared between two as the menu recommends, though not out of line with other good tea shops. Enough food to share between six with the addition of a few more pots of tea. Four of the largest scones we laid eyes on, plus clotted cream, strawberry jam, four different sandwiches cut in quarters, ginger snaps, huge chunks of fruit cake, savory little pies with brie, a huge mound of fat sweet red seedless grapes, and I don't recall what else. Our four couldn't eat it all. Thank goodness for bottomless teenagers in our group!

The salmon and shrimp pasta was very nice as well, and the sandwiches some of the group ordered were huge and everything very fresh. Service was quick but be sure to specify when ordering if you want the tab broken up. Found the prices about average among those places so close to the palace and about even with touristy spots elsewhere we'd visited.

The Crooked House is a small teahouse that serves traditional afternoon tea, just a few yards away from Windsor Castle. According to their little leaflet, the Crooked House is crooked because it was restructured with unseasoned green oak. It feels really tiny inside, where you can have your tea either upstairs or downstairs. Afternoon tea here can mean anything from literally just tea, to tea and scones or cake, to a whole rack full of cake, scones and sandwiches. Because it is near such a tourist hotspot (and in itself famous for its tilt) the prices are unfortunately comparatively high.
