Celebrated International Arts Centre, Café and Bar Jun 19, 2011
Celebrated International Arts Centre, Café and Bar - Take the stairs or the lift to the first floor (open Mon–Sun from 11am) where there is a licensed bar and café serving quality coffees, lunches and snacks, with an array of small restaurant tables to choose from.

If there are a few of you, head for the adjacent lounge area; relax in the deep comfy leather sofas and enjoy the views over Oxford Street below, via the large floor-to- ceiling windows.

Frequented mainly by students and visual arts lovers, the atmosphere is refreshingly chilled and unpretentious for an arts centre. The staff are young, polite and efficient.

The Cornerhouse is also home to 3 floors of contemporary art galleries (closed Mondays), 3 screens (matinee and evenings) showing the best of independent cinema, including some foreign language films. There is also a Ground Floor bar and a bookshop.

Prices at time of writing, Lunches from £7.25-8.95, Small plates and Sharers from £2.50-5.75, Soft and hot drinks from £1.00 -2.50, Cocktails from £4.95, cheapest bottle of Red/White wine £14.50, draft beers from £2.80, bottled beers from £3.50. Dress – smartcasual.

Situated on Oxford Street, on the corner of a short approach road to Oxford Road Railway Station, with a one stop rail link to the main Piccadilly Station.

• across the road from the Palace Theater (various productions, including some popular touring West-end musicals)

• within walking distance of the Bridgewater Hall (Renowned Music Venue – all genres - and home to the Hallé, the BBC Philharmonic and Manchester Camerata Orchestras)
