The Cooler - quite cool Mar 22, 2008
The Cooler is about £4-5 in. It is an Indie club on Park Street, and I have been there quite a lot. The bar is about average priced, small, but well staffed, and the dance floor usually starts filling by 1am. The playlist - poppy indie, for the most part - is good fun. There's a cloakroom upstairs and the toilets are well maintained.
I once saw the Wombats there for £4. The Cooler has its flaws - I have heard the DJ criticised for not varying the playlist enough, but I never noticed that, and I think you'd have to go everyh week to be bothered. The other people there are usually lovely, and I've never seen any agro. You can usually get a cab outside and its close to the chip shops. Go!
