The Columns Hotel New Orleans Reviews
Victorian Boutique hotel in Garden District New Orleans May 02, 2010
I was very impressed with the Columns Hotel located in the Garden District in New Orleans, Louisiana. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places since it was built in 1883. It has been renovated since then (obviously), but there is Victorian era ambiance that still takes you back in time. I feel it is the perfect juxtaposition of Victorian era meeting modern time.
The hotel rooms are on the pricier side if you plan on staying more than a few nights (approximately $200/night. It is well worth it to stay a night or two if you have it in your budget. If you The Columns hotel is not in your budget, you can still enjoy the cocktail happy hour in the bar on the first level. It is one of my favorite bars in New Orleans.
The location is right on St. Charles Avenue which is perfect for catching the streetcar for trips Downtown or Uptown. There are so many places to look at in the Garden District, and many great places to eat & shop. The Columns Hotel is centrally located on the Streetcar line in a safe neighborhood.
The service is excellent. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone (even if it is only for the atmosphere and/or a quick drink).
