The Cliffhouse Tagaytay Reviews
California Ambiance in Tagaytay Sep 02, 2010
If you're in Manila and looking to get a taste of the countryside without going too far, Tagaytay is definitely the place to go. Its best selling point is the priceless view of--*takes deep breath*--the world’s largest island in a lake on an island in a lake on an island! Got that? =p
For those on a budget, it’s pretty easy to actually spot some picnic tables or benches offering a view of the volcano. Most are for rent, starting at about $5 for 3 hours. But if you extra money to spend and would like to enjoy a great meal while you’re there, The Cliffhouse is a great choice.
It’s not actually one restaurant but a collection of restaurants centered around a quaint but beautifully landscaped garden and a stylish viewing deck that offers a 180 degree view of the volcano.
The restaurants in the area include:
Fling – frozen yogurt (nice lounge chairs for pic taking)
Buon Giorno – Italian restaurant (check out their cozy seating)
Fire Lake Grill – steakhouse
Cafe Breton – cafe with burgers & crepes
Cafe Platito – cafe, restaurant and home store
Fruits in Ice Cream – ice cream parlor
Recently, they've also constructed a Boutique Inn inside the compound, albeit pricier than the usual accommodation for about $250 - $320+ a night.
