The Classic Cup Cafe Reviews
The Classic Cup Jul 13, 2008
The Classic Cup was one of our venues in KC at the meetup. We had lunch here on Saturday, and then returned that night to a private area in the basement. I would not rate the food as anything spectacular, and it does take a while to get seated on the weekends. But I am impressed with their wine list. They also have convenient parking in a garage just behind them.
The Classic Cup is European style bistro featuring fresh contemporary cuisine. A large selection of appetizers includes: Tomato Bruschetta, Crab Cakes, Steamed Mussels, Hummus, Crabmeat Tostadas, and our famous "Spicy Thai Chicken Pizza". Dinner entrees include several Steak choices with Mushroom Madeira, Cabernet Pepper or Cognac Raisin sauces, as well as several daily Seafood Specials. Notable dinner entrees also include our Crabmeat Stuffed Salmon with Orange Glaze, Grilled Duck Breast with Dark Cherry Sauce, Spicy Shrimp Diablo, Goat Cheese Ravioli, Rosemary Lamb Rack, and Wild Mushroom Risotto with Roasted Chicken. The meal is complimented by 40 wines by the glass and our "Best of Award of Excellence", 800 selection, wine list.

A European atmosphere in Midwest - Classic Cup Cafe Jun 21, 2008
This is a really nice spot, definitely one of the best places to eat on a beautiful day. This cafe located on the Country Club Plaza provides a true taste of life and you can feel more like Europe than the Midwest. Getting a spot on the patio is highly recommended, especially if you are a people watching. But don’t worry if you can’t find a spot outside, the big windows allow an excellent view of the upscale street life while enjoying the air conditioned.
This European bistro is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They have a contemporary cuisine and the menu will accommodate all tastes. I was there for lunch and had a delicious platter of fresh fruit and cheese. It was delicious, plus the presentation was really nice. Regarding the service, I have to say that the staff is really friendly and helpful. I think it took long until we got our dishes, but it might be because we were hungry. Anyway it was worth waiting. This casual cafe with a European atmosphere is definitely a must if you are in KC and want to take things easy and relax. It’s a little European gem in the middle of the Midwest.
