The Cavendish Hotel Baslow Reviews
Great town. Near Chatsworth Sep 02, 2009
Baslow is a small town in the Peak District, which is east (Perhaps southeast) of Manchester. The Cavendish Hotel is on the Chatsworth estate. Chatsworth is the home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire and has been the setting for a few movies over the past few years.
The Cavendish Hotel is in a good location right next to the bus stop in Baslow's Nether End. I took the bus in from Sheffield and the drive in was beautiful once we got closer to Baslow.
My room had a nice view of a field with some grazing animals and some rolling hills. It has a restaurant inside the hotel. I had dinner there the only night I stayed, and it was as good as can be expected.
The room was clean, the bathroom was nice. They had free WiFi, which nowadays is becoming something I think should just be standard in all hotels.
I thought this was a great place to stay, not even so much for the hotel itself but for the appeal of the small town, its proximity to Chatworth House, and the views.
The keys were attached to a keychain that I swear was about 5 pounds. OK, I exaggerate a bit.
