Set in tranquil Cotswolds Sep 21, 2013
The Catherine Wheel is set in a tranquil surroundings of Cotswolds in Bibury village not far from Bibury Trout Farm where it gets its fish from. It occupies 15th century stone building with extensive garden.

We decided to stop at the Catherine's Wheel for a short lung break during our day trip though picturesque Cotswolds.

The place makes a very homely impression right from the start when you approach the building. Interior is decorated in an old style with wooden tables and chairs, and various chic decorations.

We were attended by one of the staff on entering the bar area and seated instantly at one of the tables in the restaurant part. Food and drinks menu was offered before the order was taken.

Since no of us was extremely hungry and we were looking only for a quick lunch snack, I ordered mushroom soup with a side of home-made soda bread with olive tapenade and pesto and followed by a glass of cranberry juice.

When food arrived, it looked amazingly tasty. And it smelled very appetising. No time waisting, we dug into it straight away. And it was truly splendid.

The entire experience was quite memorable and it'd be worth another visit one day.

Total paid per person - approx. £10. Great price.
