Great exotic food, best restaurant of kenya Mar 23, 2008
This is the best restaurant where I've ever been in my life. Very very nice people!! And also very very good food. A great choice of different exotic but also non exotic food. You can eat as much as you want and the prices are average. It is quite cheap for European people but expansive for people in Kenya. But it is a great experience just to be there.

The Carnivore Restraunt in Nairobi, Kenya, is truely a unique experience. Very soon after you're seated and your drink orders are taken (try the signiture drink of the carnivore, the Dawa) servers begin to approach you with large swords, on each of which is a large hunk of some type of meat (both domestic and wild game) which was until recently, cooking on an open flame. You're asked if you want some, and if you do they'll cut you off a chunk. This continues until you decide you're done eating. Although all of the meat is good, I'd particularly recommend trying the ostrich and camel, both are fantastic. There is also a vegitarian (herbavore) menu for those who prefer it.

We stayed until around 2am and then headed off to Carnivore (after having sung a song that no-one knowledgeably put forward for us). Nick drove us from the bar to Carnivore (as he was the most sober amongst us) and halfway there, there was a police check. Eppie was in the back of the jeep… Day 13 |

As we were arriving late we went straight to a restaurant called “Carnivor”. It is a very expensive restaurant in Nairobi so there was a big security control to enter the place. Food was excelent although I wanted to try cocrodile meat and they run out of it. You can get more info in my review… Taking a plane in Nairobi |
