In Historic Gastown Feb 28, 2016
~July 2015

This was a short impromptu trip to the west coast of Canada. Knowing I would have busy days a hostel was my first choice and the Cambie fit the part. This is no doubt a HOSTEL. One mainly used by backpackers of a younger age, under 30.

The building is rustic and so are the smells that 'adorn' it. I had a two bed dorm that cost 40 CAD/night. The communal washrooms are decent if you get in early enough otherwise you might want to wait till they are cleaned again.

The Cambie is part of a corporation that has hostels, bars, restaurants etc. in it's portfolio. There is a bar connected to the hostel which serves cheap drinks and food, a great prescription for meeting travellers.

Location is great! Only one block north of Gastown, you can hear the steam clock sound off. Gastown has many trendy bars and restaurants.

I would probably stay somewhere different but would definitely stop by for a drink when in Vancity again.

Affordable hostel in Historic Part of Town Aug 05, 2011
This hostel is located in the historic Gastown neighbourhood in Vancouver! It's walking distance to many attractions and also only a 8-10 minute walk to the closest train station. There is also a lively pub attached to the hostel, that offers affordable food and drinks. This place is usually really packed on the Weekends. The Gastown area is filled with many great pubs, lounges and delicious restaurants, so there are many choices literally at your doorstep!
