The Bungalo Hotel Negril

A friend and I stayed at this hotel for a few weeks over the 2008/9 Christmas/New Year holiday season.The staff were courteous, friendly and did their best to make you feel at home.

The room was clean and decent for the money. The property didn't have a restaurant onsite but the jerk chicken was cooking right out in front of the hotel. The poolside bar opened up when the room occupancy increased. The pool was nice and clean. It was a safe place to stay.


Its within walking distance to many of Negril's nightlife and music shows. There is also a money exchange place right across the street which was very convenient. Shopping is nearby,its right next to Times Square as well as many authentic jamaican restaurants,such as Miss Sonias,Sweet Spot,Cool Spot and the famous Best in the West ,,,,Bourbon Beach is directly opposite.The Jungle nightclub is also about a 10 minute walk away







The hotels bar and restaurant called The Sun Beach is further down the beach on the opposite side of the road.Guests can go there for their breakfasts,lunches and dinners also...the hotel is now called the Sun Garden to match this property.




Its a family run hotel ,so any problems are sorted out quickly and efficiently and have a great spot on the beach the bar also has family members working there....




The food is excellent,they have daily dinner specials(2-4-1 lobster twice weekly).along with the occasional free live reggae nights.




Drinks are cheap and they make excellent fresh blended drinks...




I find the place to be chilled with a good mix of tourist and locals....




Close by are the jet-skis,parasailing and the Wild Thing set off point...




Any hassle off hagglers and they will be moved on swiftly by the bars security...




The hotel is clean ,quiet with a great pool....it is in one of the best positions(imo) on the main stretch...




It has single,double and kitchenette rooms all with A/C ,TV's large showers,daily house keeping...






Theres probably lots more I forgot to mention....but if you are looking for a good solid budget hotel in a fantastic position,with some great staff and a nice chilled feel to it..the the Sun Garden(formerly The Bungalo) is the place.
