Priceless....The Botanical Garden an oasis in the city of Oslo Aug 17, 2008
The Botanical Garden is right in the city of Oslo surounded by museums and city life of eastern flavours, meaning Asia.
This is the oldest botanical garden in Norway and was established in 1814. If you like plants, flowers and herbs this is the place to go for some inspiration on how to make your garden better at home:) I know i have gotten some ideas only i don't have a garden. There are a great deal of excursions to the Botanical garden with schools and kindergardens as well. Here you can do research and teach the students. In great use of the schools around Oslo. The garden have 7 different gardens ; The Rock Garden, The Scent Garden(ment for the blind to get an experience), The Systematic garden, The Summer Flower Beds, The Old garden, The Oslo Ridge, The Arboretum. If you are in Oslo summer time i am sure a picknik here wouldn't be waste among the different flowers that is on offer. The Botanical Garden is open 10 am-9 pm on 20-24 March, 1 May, 10-12 May and 17 May Date Days Time 01.10.2007-14.03.2008 Mon-Fri 07:00-17:00 01.10.2007-14.03.2008 Sat, Sun 10:00-17:00 15.03.2008-30.09.2008 Mon-Fri 07:00-21:00 15.03.2008-30.09.2008 Sat, Sun 10:00-21:00 Address: Sars' gate/Monrads gate, Tøyen Part of the Tøyen, Oslo, Norway August 17th, 2008 travel blog |
