The Black Cat Reviews
The district’s premier indie-rock club Sep 28, 2009
The district’s premier indie-rock club features four rooms; the main stage, capacity 600; backstage, capacity 200; the red room, the dive-bar with a jukebox, pool table, pinball machines and couches; and food for thought, the vegetarian-friendly diner. Many bands make this their last stop in DC before breaking into the mainstream and graduating to the area’s larger venues. Some large bands, such as the Foo Fighters, Beck and Good Charlotte have been known to drop by for surprise shows. Featuring a vintage checkered black and white floor in the main stage room, with a solid and well marked drink list that is relatively cheap (for DC), it’s always a good time at The Black Cat.
